INVITATION COMBATING HOMOPHOBIC CYBER BULLYING: PRESENTATION OF E-GUIDE FOR LGBTI YOUTH
Accept – LGBT Cyprus and Irish-based LGBTI organisation Dundalk Outcomers, bearing in mind the importance and severity of the potential impact of homophobic cyber bullying, while recognising that the LGBTI community is more frequently targeted where cyber bullying is concerned, invites you to the presentation of the first e-guide addressed to Cypriot LGBTI youth as a tool to troubleshoot cyber bullying occurring due to gender identity or sexual orientation. The e-guide aims to offer helpful information and support to LGBTI youth that may be victims of cyber bullying.
Wednesday, 11 March 2015, at 17:00
at the EU House in Nicosia.
The event will be welcomed by the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, Ms Koursoumba, the President of the Cyprus Youth Council, Ms Chapoupi and a representative of the Cyprus Youth Board.
The e-guide was created by a group of LGBTI and non-LGBTI youth, as part of a series of workshops of the exchange program Erasmus+, in Ireland and Cyprus, at the initiative of the Irish organisation Dundalk Outcomers, in cooperation with Accept - LGBT Cyprus. Some of the youth who worked to create the e-guide, have themselves been affected or influenced by cyber bullying.
