Cancer Makes No Exceptions: Cancer in Lesbian & Bisexual women
In the framework of actions by the Women’s Group of Accept-LGBT Cyprus, aiming to increase awareness and to inform the LGBTI community and the public in general on issues concerning community, there will be a presentation titled "Cancer makes no exceptions!"
In the presentation, Dr. Yiola Markou, pathologist-oncologist, of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, will explain the relationship of cancer incidents between lesbian and bisexual women. Dr. Markou deals almost exclusively with the treatment of women with breast cancer at the Oncology Centre for many years and is knows first-hand the problems they face.
Cancer makes no exceptions. It affects everyone, especially women, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender characteristics.
A discussion will follow.
The event will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2018 on 18.15, at the Old Powerhouse in the Old City of Nicosia on Tempi Street.
